Best Parking For 2019 Santa Clarita Fourth Of July Parade

With the 2019 Santa Clarita Fourth of July parade quickly approaching, KHTS has highlighted the best parking locations for residents who plan to attend the annual event.

Santa Clarita’s annual Fourth of July parade can put a strain on the availability of parking near the parade route.

To help prepare attendees to overcome the crowds, KHTS has gathered a list of some of the public parking locations within walking distance of the parade:

  • The 370-space parking structure in Old Town Newhall
  • The Metro Station on Railroad Avenue
  • The Old Town Newhall Public Library
  • The Newhall Community Center
  • Hart Park
  • Hart High School
  • Placerita Junior High School
  • Parking Lot at 6th Street and Main Street

Street parking is permitted as long as it is a legal space and does not obstruct the parade route, according to officials.

While crafting plans for the holiday, residents are encouraged to also account for road closures.

Road closures scheduled to go into effect at 5 a.m. include:

  • Main Street, closed in both directions from Newhall Avenue to Lyons Avenue
  • Market Street, between Cross Street and Newhall Avenue
  • Newhall Avenue, between Lyons Avenue and Railroad Avenue

Road closures that are scheduled to take effect at 6 a.m. are:

  • Eastbound Lyons Avenue, between Railroad Avenue and Orchard Village Road
  • Westbound Lyons Avenue, between Orchard Village Road and Railroad Avenue, will be reduced to a single lane at 6 a.m. and closed at 7:30 a.m.
  • Orchard Village Road, between Lyons Avenue and Wiley Canyon Road
  • Dalbey Avenue, between Orchard Village Road and Newhall Avenue
  • 16th Street, between Orchard Village Road and Newhall Avenue
  • Avenida Ignacio, between Dalbey Avenue and 16th Street
  • Newhall Avenue, between 15th Street and 16th Street

For those that can’t make it to the parade in person, but still would like to catch the festivities, follow KHTS Radio on Facebook for a live stream of the entire parade.
