A Santa Clarita church is gearing up to host an artist showcase called “Skyline” this week for the community.

Set for Friday, July 26 from 9 p.m. to midnight at Elevate Church in Newhall, Skyline gives artists the space to showcase their talents and express themselves through creativity, according to event organizers. 

“The Skyline is a showcase of all artists from different backgrounds,” said Creative Pastor Felicia Reynozo.

Attendees can expect to see the work of artists ranging from poets to painters, as well as live painting demonstrations, live music ranging in genre from folk to R&B and more, according to Reynozo. 

“Everything is going to come together and just be an expression and create an environment where people feel like they can be themselves,” she said. 

The cost to attend the event is $10, and all ages are welcome, according to event organizers. 

Lead Pastor Mauricio Ruiz added that Elevate Church has evolved over the last nine years to incorporate a variety of creative mediums in an effort to help people in the community “connect.”

“The message remains the same, but the methods of how we reach people changes,” he said. “We’re just trying to create an environment that’s safe, healthy and where young people can showcase their creativity.”
