Canyon Theatre Guild’s “Night of a Thousand Stars” Gala

When: Friday, Feb. 21 at 6 p.m.

What: The event will feature live performances and dancing to the music of the Ann Louise Band. The evening will begin with a social hour followed by dinner and entertainment. Proceeds will benefit the nonprofit Canyon Theatre Guild’s productions and presentations.

Mardi Gras Madness 5K/10K/1K Benefiting SOAR

When: Sunday, Feb. 23 starting at 6:30 a.m.
Where: Westfield Valencia Town Center, 24201 West Valencia Blvd in Valencia

What: The members of the Santa Clarita Track Club and Westfield Valencia Town Center present the 10th annual Mardi Gras Madness 5K/10K and Mini Madness 1K benefiting Students Off And Running (SOAR) of Santa Clarita. MGM is a USATF-certified rolling 5K/10K circuit run on paseos, with bridge overpasses that will challenge many runners throughout the city and along the scenic South Fork River Trail. The 10K course offers an additional off-trail dirt element.

What: Artists are inspired by or reference flight. Artworks will be shown in a variety of mediums, including but not limited to, paintings, drawings, printmaking, photography and textiles. Enjoy light appetizers, live music and meet the artists featured in the exhibition. The exhibit will be on display until March 7.

Laminated Dough Community Baking Workshop at COC

When: Friday, Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 29 at 5 p.m.

What: Enjoy beer-battered cod served with coleslaw and a choice of French fries, rice pilaf or beans. Fish tacos are also available and served with rice and beans. Dine in or take out (or enjoy outdoor patio seating). The price is $11 for a two-piece dinner or the two-fish taco plate, or $12 for a three-piece dinner. Cash and credit cards are accepted. All proceeds benefit local charities and families in need.

“Spread the Sparkle” Fundraiser Benefiting The Sparkle of Tinnley Organization

When: Saturday, Feb. 29 from 12 to 4 p.m.

What: Join the nonprofit The Sparkle of Tinnley Organization for their first fundraiser so they can “spread the sparkle” to as many kids and their families impacted by childhood cancer, as well as other life-threatening illnesses, as possible. The event is set to feature a cornhole tournament, arts and crafts drive, costume accessory drive, donation-based photo booth, raffle items, Be the Match bone marrow registration, Sparkle merchandise, food trucks, beer, baked goods, a family zone and more.

What: All are invited to a free reception to meet the artists from the new SCAA exhibit, “Vintage.” Art representing styles, places, people or objects of the past, before the year 2000, will be displayed. Come and enjoy classic images and old-fashioned ideas from the previous century.

West Ranch High School presents the World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra
