Rotary Club Collection Weekend For Camp Pendleton Marines

What: The Rotary Club of Santa Clarita will be collecting items to be donated to the Warrior Warehouse at Camp Pendleton, where military families can go and get all the items they may be lacking.

Accepting new and gently used baby items, small children’s clothes, diapers, baby wipes, etc. Also needed are gently used household items – everything a young couple would need to set up an apartment – dishes, pots and pans, silverware, linens, furniture, etc.

What: The Michael Hoefflin Foundation will host its 1st Move4MHF Virtual Event for the entire month of June 2021. To register after May 1st, make a donation, or find additional information, please go to www.mhf.org.

The planned annual fundraiser offers hope to those who may feel there is none and also helps relieve some of the additional and unforeseen challenges and expenses associated with a cancer diagnosis. All funds raised from the event go directly to support the Michael Hoefflin Foundation and its services.

Family Nature Walk, Blooms Of The Season, & Monthly Bird Walk At Placerita Canyon

What: Monthly Bird Walk is offered on the first and second Saturdays of each month (weather permitting) from 8:00 am to 9:30 am. This program is designed for all levels of “birders”. Bring your binoculars (or borrow ours), water, comfortable shoes and a field guide if available.

Blooms Of The Season is held on the fourth Saturday of every month and begins at 9:30 am at the front steps to the Nature Center. Learn about native plants and what’s blooming year-round along our trails.

Family Nature Walk is every Saturday from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. An easy one hour walk for the entire family exploring our Natural Area’s animals, plants and cultural history. These hikes are led by Placerita Docents, are free and begin at the front steps to our Nature Center. Pre-registration is not required but hikes will be limited to 15 individuals and all must follow current COVID Restrictions and Guidelines.

What: IEPSCV welcomes everyone to join us in this creative adventure; 2E, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, Prader-Willi Syndrome, Downs Syndrome, all differently abled artists and their families are welcome here! We love seeing how our campers view the world differently and tackle activities in their own unique ways.

This year’s camp, like last year, will be held virtually via Zoom to better protect immunocompromised participants. However, some portions may take place in-person outdoors, depending on weather conditions and location availability.
