What: The County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation in partnership with the Friends of Hart Park present an evening of country music and dance. The event will feature a country music Disc Jockey and the Sarah Winchester Band playing live music for open dancing and country line dance demonstrations.

What: Safety Town is a fun summer safety education camp for children 4.5 to 6 years of age. Children learn safety lessons from credentialed teachers, and from local community safety heroes, including the Fire Department, Sheriff, CHP, City Lifeguards, American Red Cross, Guide Dogs of America, and more! They drive pedal cars in a child-size town, sing, make arts and crafts and play games that reinforce the safety lessons.

Santa Clarita Philharmonic presents “Youth and Romance” at the PAC

When: Sunday, June 3 at 3 p.m.

What: Youth will be represented by the winner of the orchestra’s 4th annual Student Concerto Competition. The competition is open to all junior and senior high school students in the Santa Clarita Valley. The romance will be represented by music from the Romantic period (1830–1900) of classical music. The orchestra will feature Robert Schumann’s Symphony No. 1, “Spring,” and Max Reger’s Concerto for Orchestra in the Old Style. While written after 1900, Reger’s Concerto retains the broad, melodic passages as the works of the Romantic period.
