Touch a Truck presented by the SCV Senior Center

When: Saturday, Oct. 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

What: What child, or adult for that matter, wouldn’t want to climb on a fire engine, turn on a Sheriff’s or CHP vehicle siren or take a photo with a favorite vehicle? That’s the premise behind Touch-A-Truck. The City dump truck filled with balloons will repeat its popular Beach Ball Dump just after noon, with free beach balls for all guests. In addition, there will be a variety of entertainment, costumed characters, vendors, food trucks and kid-friendly activities for everyone to enjoy. All proceeds benefit the SCV Senior Center.

What: More than 20 high school bands from the Santa Clarita Valley and around the region will gather for the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Marching Band Competition. What: The City of Santa Clarita is hosting a dedication ceremony to celebrate the completion of the Skatepark Public Art project, Inertia, with artist Miguel A. Del Real and the community. Del Real completed a three-day workshop last February to receive feedback from the skating community to help plan and create the outdoor mural. The dedication ceremony will then continue with a celebration of the 10-year anniversary of the skate park. Attendees can expect skate demos, a DJ, giveaways and vendors.

6th Annual Cancer Survivor Celebration presented by Circle of Hope
