What: On June 11th the SCV Nonprofit Leaders Network will return with their first interactive ZOOM meeting, “Fundraising in the Time of COVID-19.” Almost every SCV nonprofit has been financially devastated by the coronavirus crisis. This is an opportunity for nonprofit leaders to gain valuable insight into how a few of our non-profits have been able to create revenue streams, deal with event cancellations, and provide needed services. Executive staff and board leaders are encouraged to join in. Meetings are set to continue being held on the second Thursday of each month on the Zoom platform.

What: The College of the Canyons Virtual Job Fair allows prospective employees to connect with business representatives from a variety of industries. These companies are looking to fill positions now or in the near future. Virtual Job Fairs are like “mini interviews,” except that they’re online. It is recommended that attendees dress professionally, be prepared to talk about career skills and experience and ask questions. There will be different employers on each day of the fair. This event is open to the public; you do not need to be a COC student to attend.

What: For over 25 years, the Michael Hoefflin Foundation for Children’s Cancer has provided individualized, caring support that addresses the various ways in which life is disrupted for local families facing a pediatric cancer diagnosis. This year, the Foundation has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 10th Annual Walk for Kids with Cancer, which was originally scheduled for March 21 at College of the Canyons. However, the silent auction will move online and can be found starting Monday, June 15 at www.biddingforgood.com/mhf. The MHF team thanks their sponsors and participants for their support and understanding and asks that everyone continue to take all steps necessary to stay safe and healthy.

What: This two-day quilt show is set to have over 80 quilts, both traditional and modern, on display. A handcrafted guild boutique, opportunity baskets, door prizes and vendors will be among the many offerings at the show. Donation admission is $10 for one day, $15 for two, and children under 12 are free.

What: William S. Hart had 11 total dogs throughout his time living in California – many of them called this mansion home. Learn about Hart’s Great Danes, Bulldogs and more. Take a tour of the dog cemetery and take an extra close look at the dog’s bedroom. Make a dog toy for your pup at home or to donate to a local shelter in the area. Leashed dogs are always welcome in the park however only service dogs will be allowed in the house.

“Painting for a Purpose” Fundraiser for Avenue SLS

Upon completion, you’ll walk away with a beautiful piece of art that you’ve created. Event is open to participants seven years old or older.
