SCV Water, a water agency in Santa Clarita, has moved its fun and informative annual open house to an online venue for the entire month of May.

SCV Water is set to host a virtual open house through its website throughout the month of May.

“For the past 25 years, SCV Water (and previously, Castaic Lake Water Agency) has invited our customers to learn more about your water and the people behind it at an annual open house,” SCV Water officials said. “Last year more than 1,500 people joined us at Central Park and at our Rio Vista Water Treatment Plant.”

This year, the open house will be hosted online on the SCV Water website. By moving the event online, the Santa Clarita water agency aims to educate the public while complying with the “Safer at Home” guidelines to keep residents safe during the coronavirus pandemic.

Along with landscaping resources, SCV Water’s open house page offers “some virtual ways for you to learn more about water, including tips, tools and best practices to save water,” officials said. Additionally, parents can find a link to coloring book print-outs for their kids on the virtual open house page.

According to the Santa Clarita water agency, some of the materials available on the open house page have been provided by the City of Santa Clarita, L.A. County Vector Control and local landscape designers, among others.
