Santa Clarita Bank Provides Personal Reassurance During Financial Hardship

During the global pandemic, COVID-19, many local businesses have had to downsize and some have had to close their doors completely.

Business owners suffering closure turned to the Paycheck Protection Program, PPP,  in order to meet payroll and keep their doors open.

Mission Valley Bank in Santa Clarita knew their customers were facing hardship and wanted to help.

“It’s part of our core values that we want to be trusted advisers to our community,” said Tamara Gurney, President, CEO & Director of Mission Valley Bancorp & Bank. “We want to alleviate some of the frustration and some of the concern of the community and business owners during this process.”

Mission Valley Bank continues to monitor the discussions in Congress related to a potential extension of the PPP and / or alternative relief programs.

“What we made it our business to do is to reach out personally, telling our customers where they were in the process so they wouldn’t get frustrated or scared that they would miss the funding,” Gurney said.

Melissa Lee, owner of Movement of Pilates, was on the verge of losing her business when she turned to Mission Valley Bank.

“I didn’t think it (PPP) would apply to me,” Lee said. “I did it through Mission Valley Bank and it took under 24 hours and it was great.”

Mission Valley Bank has a service philosophy which is based on truly knowing their clients, working to understand their unique financial needs and responding with solid solutions that will help them achieve their goals.

“Everyone at Mission Valley Bank was great, and they held my hand during it all,” Lee said. “To this day if I have questions I can email or call them and they get right back to me.”
