Henry Mayo Fitness And Health Center Opens The Performance Institute

The Henry Mayo Fitness and Health Center opened its Performance Institute on Tuesday, offering a variety of programs for athletes of all ages.

The Performance Institute offers various sports injury rehabilitation services designed to help minimize the re-occurrence of injuries and help athletes achieve optimal performance, according to Mike Crawford, spokesperson for Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital.

“The Performance Institute offers adult group training,” Crawford said. “The program includes strength training and high-intensity workouts; sports performance training; (and) conditioning designed to improve speed, agility, strength and power for athletes both in-season and out of season.”

The Performance Institute also offers performance training for youth, with workouts designed for athletes ages 14 and under that focus on proper movement development, according to Crawford.

“Also housed in the Performance Institute is the pilates studio,” Crawford said. “This new studio will help members strengthen their muscles, tone their bodies, increase joint mobility and, overall, improve the quality of life.”

The new Performance Institute is located within the Henry Mayo Fitness and Health Center at 25425 Town Center Drive.
