Oakmont of Santa Clarita’s “Team Oakmont” raised more than $8,400 for the 2018 Walk to End Alzheimer’s earlier this month.

As of Wednesday, a total of 29 team members raised $8,470 for the Alzheimer’s Association through the Oct. 6 event, ranking them as the No. 2 team out of 93 teams in Santa Clarita, according to the event website.

The cause is close to Oakmont of Santa Clarita officials’ hearts, as the Santa Clarita senior living community offers a Memory Care wing so residents living with Alzheimer’s disease can receive specialized care and programming.

“We give them all the beautiful amenities at Oakmont, but it’s a more structured program geared towards just enhancing their quality of life and helping them to deal with the sad disease of Alzheimer’s,” said Mary Dembkowski of Oakmont of Santa Clarita.

The Traditions Memory Care community consists of 25 apartments, and another 55 apartments ranging from 400 to 1,300 square feet comprise the main Oakmont of Santa Clarita community.

About 90 senior residents currently call Oakmont of Santa Clarita home, and those considering joining the senior living community in Santa Clarita for either assisted living or memory care are encouraged to schedule a tour with a staff member today.

“I always suggest having lunch because trying the food is really a good way to just get a feel for the community, meet the other residents,” Dembkowski said. “We have the most fabulous view. We have an outdoor patio in our dining room; it’s got a waterfall and it’s just lovely.”

Oakmont is a luxury senior living community in Santa Clarita located on seven acres of land on Newhall Ranch Road. Recently opened in January 2016, Oakmont of Santa Clarita is comprised of 80 pet-friendly apartment units, with both independent and assisted living options available.
