I’m writing this letter to endorse my friend and business partner Fred Arnold for College of the Canyons Board of Trustees. I am endorsing Fred for many reasons. First, he is a man with a great deal of passion for his family, his business, and his community. Fred has raised 4 wonderful children that have gone through the Santa Clarita school systems, two of which have graduated from college, one is currently in college and one still in high school, and are all doing well and successful.

Fred has run American Family Funding, a mortgage lending company here in Santa Clarita, for the last 30 years. In this time, the mortgage industry has seen many ups and downs, but with Fred’s experience and leadership, American Family Funding has always been successful. Fred was the president of the National Association of Mortgage Brokers in 2008 during the mortgage industry crash and with his persistence, both in the community and in Sacramento he was able to effect change that still to this day has helped the industry. I have known Fred for 20 years and I have been his business partner for the last five years. Even with the current state of the country, we have taken all the necessary steps and precautions to continue to help so many achieve the American dream of homeownership.

Fred has been on the boards of many companies and non-profit organizations in our community and I have seen firsthand how much he cares about Santa Clarita and College of the Canyons. He understands that the success of COC will only help our community grow and can also be an example for other community colleges. American Family Funding has also participated in many charity events and it is part of our culture to do what we can to help our community. I fully endorse Fred Arnold for COC Board of Trustees and I would ask that you support him as well.
