Walker and Rodas were killed Nov. 30, 2013, in a single-vehicle car collision in the Valencia industrial park. UPDATE: Paul Walker, Roger Rodas Crash Reportedly Caused By Speed

Dozens signed the sidewalk and the newly installed light pole that replaced the one that Rodas and Walker crash into.

“I first recognized him as someone who had great potential as an actor (in the movie “Varsity Blues”), then in the “Fast and the Furious” movies and the other movies he did before his death,” said Greg Borgeson, of the Pacific Palisades. “I just wish I met him in person. I understood that he was a very down-to-earth, cool guy to be a friend with. It’s unfortunate that he had to die like this.”

Fans are hosting an inaugural Memorial Car Show to honor both Walker and Rodas at the Santa Barbara City College from 5-9 p.m. Sunday.

“We’re having a candlelight vigil at 3 p.m.,” said Marcus Coleman, of Bakersfield. “We didn’t know them but we’re really good fans and we met a lot of his family and we believed in what (Walker) was doing.”

“(Roger Rodas) was driving a red Porsche Carrera GT at an unsafe speed, approximately 100+ mph, in the No. 1 eastbound lane on Hercules Street, approaching Constitution,” according to the Coroner’s Office report.

“For unknown reasons, the driver lost control of his vehicle, and the vehicle partially spun around, and began traveling in a southeast direction. The vehicle then struck a curb, and the driver’s side of the vehicle struck a tree and then a lightpost,” the report continued.

The force of the collision then spun the car around again, and the passenger’s side struck a tree and the vehicle burst into flames, according to notes from Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Fans Host Memorial In Santa Clarita One Year After Paul Walker,Station, who were the investigators first on the scene.

“I think at this point, everybody that comes — we’re still all mourning and we’re still all hoping and wishing that this was a dream. It’s not something that we’re going to be able to wake up from and not really realize what happened,” said Erik Zamora, of Oxnard. “I loved his movies and I thought he was a great actor but I didn’t know him personally. I think any car enthusiast that loves cars will be here and should be here.”

Walker was in Santa Clarita Valley for a toy drive to benefit his nonprofit and was the passenger in the Porsche Carrera GT that Rodas was driving.

In January, Cody Walker, Paul Walker’s brother, joined Paul Walker’s nonprofit as the Reach Out Worldwide Brand Manager, according to a news release.

“First and foremost, my family and I truly appreciate the support we have received during this difficult time,” said Cody Walker in the news release. “One of the things I always admired Fans Host Memorial In Santa Clarita One Year After Paul Walker, about my brother was his genuine desire to help others in need.
