The city received a Project of the Year “Transportation Project” award for the Golden Valley Road Bridge Widening Project over the State Route 14 from the American Public Works Association Southern California Chapter, according to a press release.
The Golden Valley Road Bridge widening over the State Route 14 is the 8.5-mile crucial link of the Cross Valley Connector which connects State Route 14 to the Interstate 5.
The project widened the existing bridge by adding four more lanes, making a total of six lanes.
Three lanes are for accessing the north and southbound State Route 14.
New traffic signals and a new northbound access lane were also installed, said city officials.
