Congresswoman Katie Hill Travels To 2019 Munich Security Conference

Congresswoman Katie Hill, D-Agua Dulce, announced that she is currently attending the 2019 Munich Security Conference, as well as visiting NATO Headquarters and the seat of the European Commission in Belgium as part of a congressional delegation led by the Speaker of the House.

Hill will join Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, as well as eight other members of Congress, in attending the 2019 Munich Security Conference, as well as visiting NATO Headquarters and the seat of the European Commission in Brussels, Belgium.

“As a member of the House Armed Services Committee and a Representative to Leadership for the freshman class, I am honored to participate in these critical national security dialogues to better understand the matters of national security that affect all of us, either directly or indirectly,” said Hill.

Senior officials from dozens of countries are set to attend the 2019 Munich Security Conference, where discussions regarding the future of the European Union, trade and international security, arms control, and possible implications of power struggles between the United States, China and Russia are set to be held, according to officials.

“The whole liberal world order appears to be falling apart,” said Wolfgang Ischinger, chairman of the Munich Security Conference, in an introductory note. “We are experiencing an epochal shift; an era is ending, and the rough outlines of a new political age are only beginning to emerge.”

The Congressional Delegation is set to participate in high-level conversations and bilateral meetings with U.S. allies and partners on pressing global security issues, according to a statement from Hill’s office.

“This is a critical time for both the United States and our European allies, and I look forward to connecting with them about the strength of our partnership amidst the threats we face,” Hill said. “I am thankful to the Speaker for this opportunity.”

In Brussels, the delegation is set to meet with top NATO commanders and U.S. military leaders in Europe, as well as NATO ambassadors from allied nations, senior European Union officials, and Belgian leaders.

“This conference and the meetings surrounding it will help me best advocate for our community and our country, especially as a member of House Armed Services Committee Democrats,” Hill said in a Facebook post. “I am very thankful for this opportunity and I will keep checking in while I’m here.”

  1. Well miss Hill, I am wondering what you thought about when you heard , ”The whole liberal world order appears to be falling apart,” said Wolfgang Ischinger, chairman of the Munich Security Conference, in an introductory note. “We are experiencing an epochal shift; an era is ending, and the rough outlines of a new political age are only beginning to emerge.”
I know how I felt! Liberalism to the extreme doesn’t work! Socialism doesn’t work! Extreme conservatism doesn’t work! When we become too liberal and do nothing for 20 years to protect our borders, it only makes sense that people are going to react, and say we need a wall!!!
We have already spent more this year on our border than it would cost to build a substantial barrier!! Not to mention the loss of life or how our families have suffered!
In Munich you heard how liberalism is not working around the world; what makes you think it can work her at home?!!

  2. She should have ran as a Republican.
