2020 State Senate Candidates To Join KHTS Radio Live On-Air

The two candidates running for California State Senate District 21 (SD-21), which represents the Santa Clarita Valley, are scheduled to appear live on KHTS Radio next week.

In the coming week, State Senator Scott Wilk, R-Santa Clarita, and Democratic candidate Kipp Mueller are scheduled to join KHTS live on-air for separate interviews as part of ongoing 2020 election coverage.

The two candidates will be asked questions on a variety of topics, ranging from California’s approach to the COVID-19 pandemic to the wildfires engulfing the state.

Wilk is scheduled to kick the interviews off on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 9:35 a.m. Mueller is scheduled for two days later on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 10:35 a.m.

During the March 3 primary, Wilk, who has served in the State Senate since 2016, received about 55.5 percent of the vote compared to Mueller, who received roughly 17.2 percent.

The primary for the 21st District included four Democrats candidates, which some say caused the blue vote to splinter. All four Democratic candidates combined received about 44.5 percent of the vote.

The two are set to face off at the ballot box during the general election on Nov. 3.
