Early voting in Los Angeles County begins next week for registered voters.
Beginning Oct. 5, registered voters in Los Angeles County will be sent their mail-in ballots and be able to drop them off at drop-off locations.
For those not yet registered to vote, the deadline to register in California is Oct. 19. Registration can be done online at this site.
Registration status can be checked using the County’s election information site, as well as allowing access to electronic sample ballots, and a tracker for mail-in ballots.
Also included in the election information site are the locations of the 13 drop-off stations for those who choose to drop off their mail-in ballots within Santa Clarita, as well as one in both Acton and Agua Dulce.
A full map of voting centers in Los Angeles County can be found here.
Mail-in ballots are encouraged to be filled out and sent back or dropped off as soon as possible by L.A. County officials. If mailing, the ballot must be postmarked by November 3.
In addition to mailing in and dropping off mail-in ballots, in-person polling locations are to open as early as Oct. 24.
Three Santa Clarita polling places are set to be open from Oct. 24 through Nov. 3, while another 16 polling places are scheduled to be open from Oct. 30 through Nov. 3. Polling places also act as mail-in ballot drop-off locations.
Voters who do not receive their ballots or have damaged ballots may request a replacement by contacting the Registrar’s office by calling (800) 815-2666, or emailing votebymail@rrcc.lacounty.gov with one’s full name, date of birth, and address.
Replacement ballots can also be requested here. The deadline to request a replacement is Oct. 27.
