Suzette Valladares Announces Candidacy For 23rd State Senate District

Wednesday, former Assemblywoman Suzette Valladares, R-Acton, announced her candidacy for the 23rd State Senate District, which incorporates the Santa Clarita Valley, Antelope Valley, and a portion of the Victor Valley.

Suzette Valladares enters this race with the endorsements of State Senator Scott Wilk, whose current 21st Senate District includes much of the 23rd Senate District, Assemblyman Tom Lackey, who currently represents the 34th Assembly District, former CAGOP Chairman and Antelope Valley business-leader Frank Visco, and State Senate Minority Leader Brian Jones.

“California is broken and desperately in need of bold leaders to move us forward. Suzette Valladares is a proven leader, strong voice, and problem solver who will put the needs of the people of California’s 23rd Senate District first, and I am proud to endorse her candidacy,” noted Minority Leader Brian Jones in his endorsement of Suzette Valladares for State Senate.

Valladares was elected to the California State Assembly in 2020 and was one of the founders of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus. She currently serves as Executive Director of a non-profit organization that partners with law enforcement to invest in youth. Supporting law enforcement, making our neighborhoods safer, lowering California’s high cost of living, and working to end the homeless crisis and fentanyl crisis remain her top priorities.

“We need to continue working to make our streets and communities safe, lower the cost of living, including our energy bills, have available and affordable housing, and solve the homeless, drug trafficking, and fentanyl crises, problems that are all connected. The 23rd State Senate District has led the way in the aerospace, technology, energy, and entertainment industries. We can lead the way to make California a better place to live and work,” said Suzette Valladares.

  1. If anyone has a R after their name I’m voting for them.
    R=right aka correct. D=disgusting.

  2. Something is wrong here. The 23rd State Senate District does not cover any of the cities listed in this article.

  3. KMS is correct!! All cities & states run by Ds are degenerated crime & high taxed hell holes!!

  4. They even tax my electric bill. Everything is tax tax tax!

  5. West Virginia is the poorest state in the country, run mostly by Republicans. The education system is ranked #47.So I don’t think it’s possible to generalize that Republicans always have the best results.

About Carl Goldman

Carl Goldman, along with his wife, Jeri repurchased KHTS AM-1220, Santa Clarita’s hometown station on October 24, 2003. They owned it from 1990-1998, and then sold it to Clear Channel Communication in 1998, buying it back from Clear Channel in 2003. Since then, they have rebuilt KHTS as a critical voice of the Valley. In 2015 the radio station moved to its new headquarters on Main Street in Old Town Newhall, in the original Newhall Hardware building. In 2018 an FM was added, 98.1, with its signal being simulcast with AM-1220. In January 2020, Carl and Jeri cruised on the Diamond Princess. Carl was one of the first Americans to come down with Covid-19. Months earlier he was impacted by Guillain Barre Syndrome as a result of a Shingles vaccine in September 2019. He is still in recovery from the vaccine.
