Former Congresswoman Katie Hill To Release Memoir ‘She Will Rise’

Former Congresswoman Katie Hill is set to release a memoir titled “She Will Rise,” chronicling her resignation during the “darkest moments of her life.”

Hill resigned in October of 2019 amid allegations of an affair with campaign staffers and nude photos — characterized as revenge porn by Hill — being released without her consent by several media outlets.

“I’m stepping down, but I refuse to let this experience scare off other women who dare to take risks, who dare to step into this light, who dare to be powerful,” Hill said in her farewell speech on the House floor.

Hill is expected to expand on her message outlined in the farewell address as part of efforts to support victims of exploitation in her book set to be released on Aug. 18.

The date is the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote.

In the memoir, the former Congress member discusses the “scandal that began a national conversation around questions of bisexuality, domestic abuse, cyber exploitation, workplace power dynamics and what happens when regular people who live regular lives run for office,” according to Grand Central Publishing.

Hill also explores the “double standard” that men and women face surrounding sexual behavior, according to the publisher.
