Garcia Continues To Speak Up On Fentanyl Crisis

During a House Intelligence Committee hearing on global threats Thursday, Congressman Mike Garcia, R-Santa Clarita, delivered a line of questioning to leaders in the Intelligence Community regarding the smuggling of fentanyl and other lethal narcotics into the United States through the open southern border.

The line of questioning comes as Garcia’s area of representation, (CA-27) has the highest amount of fentanyl overdose deaths within Los Angeles County.

“It’s not counter-narcotics. It’s security of our homeland and defense of our southern border. That has not been’ the priority. I would submit that fighting fentanyl smuggling’ needs to be our number one priority. As a mission right now, we are failing. This is a war that we are currently losing, and at the rate of 100,000 American lives every year.”

  1. The Liberal open borders & soft on crime policies are ruining the USA!

  2. The smuggling is being done at ports of entry, where the drugs are brought in by US citizens who have been paid by cartels. The asylum-seekers & those trying to get their family into our country for a better life are not the source of the fentanyl crisis.

  3. Anne in Wonderland, Get your head out of the Pollyanna mud, Yes that’s also true, but not the majority of the cause/reason—-watch some National Geographic shows, “To catch a Smuggler” & “Narco Wars”——Wake Up Naive Child!!

About Carl Goldman

Carl Goldman, along with his wife, Jeri repurchased KHTS AM-1220, Santa Clarita’s hometown station on October 24, 2003. They owned it from 1990-1998, and then sold it to Clear Channel Communication in 1998, buying it back from Clear Channel in 2003. Since then, they have rebuilt KHTS as a critical voice of the Valley. In 2015 the radio station moved to its new headquarters on Main Street in Old Town Newhall, in the original Newhall Hardware building. In 2018 an FM was added, 98.1, with its signal being simulcast with AM-1220. In January 2020, Carl and Jeri cruised on the Diamond Princess. Carl was one of the first Americans to come down with Covid-19. Months earlier he was impacted by Guillain Barre Syndrome as a result of a Shingles vaccine in September 2019. He is still in recovery from the vaccine.
