Garcia Secures Funding For New Mammogram At Henry Mayo

Congressman Mike Garcia, R-Santa Clarita, has secured funds that are set to be used to purchase a state-of-the-art mammography machine for The Sheila R. Veloz Breast Center at Henry Mayo Hospital.

Representative Garcia, a member of the House Appropriations Committee, has secured $610,000 in community project funding for the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in Valencia, from the Department of Health and Human Services.

“As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, I’m proud to advocate for necessary funding that directly impacts our community,” said Garcia. “I’m pleased to announce that Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, located here in Valencia, will receive $610,000 to support their breast health initiative. This funding will ensure that our communities have access to quality health care services and top-notch equipment. As your Member of Congress, it is my responsibility to advocate for community programs that benefit all of North LA County.”

The Sheila R. Veloz Breast Center was created through the experiences of breast cancer survivors, patients and their families; the center is designed with your physical and emotional needs in mind, according to officials with The Sheila R. Veloz Breast Center.

“Our goal is to improve access to breast imaging services in the Santa Clarita Valley by making it easier for women to have their annual mammograms, and to reduce the anxiety associated with breast cancer detection,” said officials with The Sheila R. Veloz Breast Center.
