Lancaster City Councilmember Challenges Katie Hill For Congressional Seat

Lancaster City Councilmember Angela Underwood-Jacobs has entered the race to challenge Congresswoman Katie Hill, making her the third Republican to enter the highly-contested race.

Underwood-Jacobs along with being a councilmember, is a businesswoman, wife and mother in Lancaster, with ambitions to move onto Congress to represent the 25th District, which includes Santa Clarita.

“I am running to bring back some fiscal sense to Congress,” Underwood-Jacobs said. “The current representative is way too loose with taxpayer money.”

Underwood-Jacobs has lived in the Antelope Valley for 26 years and made a career in the banking industry for much of that time.

She worked for eighteen years for Bank of America, where she made her way from teller to the ranks of senior management.

Presently, Underwood-Jacobs serves as an executive at California Bank and Trust, specifically in the role of Senior Vice President of the Greater Southern California (GSC) North Region.

In 2015, Underwood-Jacobs began her service on the Lancaster City Council, advocating for small businesses and working families.

While there are many issues Underwood-Jacobs wishes to tackle, some of her primary issues are creating jobs that pay real wages, support for families, education, the national debt, lowering taxes, support for the aerospace industry and taking care of our veterans and seniors.
