Wilk Demands Answers For Failed Program To Assist Children With Hearing Loss

Senate Republican Leader Scott Wilk (R-Santa Clarita) and members of the Republican Caucus sent a letter to the Department of Health Care Services Friday demanding answers about a failed program aimed to help children with hearing loss.

The letter comes as a response to an audit of the Department of Health Care Services Hearing Aid Coverage for Children Program, which revealed only two percent of eligible children actually received hearing aids and more than 2,000 children are awaiting assistance from the state agency.

“As California legislators, one of our most important jobs is to ensure necessary public services to the most vulnerable communities throughout the state are provided effectively and efficiently,” said the letter from the Republican Caucus. “We do not doubt that providing hearing aids to children so they can better function at school and home is a worthy cause. But if the state promises hearing aids to children, it must do better than reaching less than 2 percent of that goal.”

Senate Republicans stressed the importance of transparency toward taxpayers who help to fund government programs, including failed programs.

  1. I’m sure they collected 100% of the taxes too. Stop voting for feel-good measures that promise to solve all of these problems. The State doesn’t operate efficiently. Donate to non profits who deliver closer to 90%. And this includes no more water bonds (6 on my property tax bill with NO NEW water projects), 8 school bonds (literally no improvements there), parks, yes we do see some new parks but mostly city parks not state parks and those are trash. Please stop giving them money.

  2. Donkey Pox ate the DemonicTaxRat’s money. Again.

  3. Some one needs to edit the title. Demand”s”
