Wilk Education Bill Passes Senate, Heads To Assembly

Senator Scott Wilk, R-Santa Clarita, announced that Senate Bill 545 (SB 545), meant to help students affected by students struggling due to distance learning during the pandemic, has passed the California Senate, and now heads to the State Assembly.

Wilk announced the passing of SB 545 on Wednesday, and if passed into law it is expected to help students, including those in Santa Clarita, struggling due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to a statement from Wilk’s office.

“Supporting our young people is a strategic investment in our future and the right thing to do for the thousands of children impacted so harshly by the pandemic,” Wilk said.

Students who live in Santa Clarita and received a D or F letter grade in their current school semester are expected to benefit from the bill, according to officials.

Other benefits may provide interventions, support and some form of credit recovery to the students, according to the language of the bill.

Receiving a request from a pupil’s parent is necessary, according to Wilk’s statement.

  1. Hopefully a D or F wasn’t because of the Racist CRT infiltration/brainwashing/indoctrination that could cause children to give up and possibly commit suicide because of that type of CCP guilt of worthlessness of an innocent child. Those deceitful, demonic Liberals!
