Wilk Honors September, October As  Hispanic Heritage Month

Senator Scott Wilk, R-Santa Clarita, is honoring Hispanic Heritage Month and recently recognized Elementum Services, Inc., as the 21st Senate District September Small Business of the Month.

Established in 2016 in Hesperia, Oscar Garcia has been in the business of water, fire, and mold restoration services for 15 years and has helped many homeowners salvage their homes from further damage caused by disastrous events, according to Wilk.

“Oscar’s passion and caring personality puts homeowners at ease during the most challenging of times. Faced with the devastation of a fire, flood or some other catastrophe, homeowners know they can trust Oscar and the team at Elementum to handle needed repairs with professionalism and compassion. I am pleased to recognize Oscar’s Elementum Services as the 21st Senate District Business of the Month and am especially pleased to recognize this Hispanic-owned business during Hispanic Heritage Month,” Wilk said.

Sept. 15 through Oct 15 marks Hispanic Heritage Month.

In addition to owning Elementum Services, Inc., Garcia has also been an active and “generous” community member in the High Desert, according to Wilk.

“What makes Oscar unique is that not only is he a successful business owner, but he also has great love for our community,” Wilk said. “He is always the first to lend a helping hand, as he is aware that each individual’s success contributes to a thriving community. His presence is always felt at local chamber events, and he gives back to the community by supporting many of the great nonprofits that provide vital services to our families. Thank you Oscar, for your passion and contributions to the High Desert.”

Small businesses make up 99.8 percent of all California businesses, accounting for 7 million employees across the state, according to Wilk.

Of California’s 4.1 million small businesses, 1.2 million are minority-owned, and many call the 21st Senate District home.

“Thank you Senator Wilk for this amazing recognition as the 21st Senate District Small Business of the Month. What an honor knowing that my business has helped countless families and my passion for helping others are making an impact in the community I live and work. I am grateful for your advocacy in Sacramento, especially in fighting for small business owners like myself,” Garcia said.
