Post Office Offers Reward For Mail Theft Information

The U.S Postal Inspector is offering a reward to anyone who provides information for mail theft in the Santa Clarita Valley.

Up to $10,000 will be awarded to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in the thefts, which according to Postal Inspector Renee Focht, have occurred in Stevenson Ranch and Valencia.

The U.S Postal Inspector suggest the following tips to keep mail safe:

  • Never send cash or coins in the mail, use check or money orders
  • Promptly remove mail from your mailbox after delivery
  • Place mail on vacation-hold at your local Post Office while you’re away
  • Deposit mail at local Postal Offices, hand it to your letter carrier, or deposit mail in a Postal Service collection box before the last collection time.
