Junior Chamber International (JCI) Santa Clarita is hosting a charcuterie arrangement online workshop, “Cheese the Day,” to raise funds for a local charity.
JCI Santa Clarita announced Monday that they would be partnering with a charcuterie professional and offer a Zoom workshop exclusive to the Santa Clarita Valley.
“Join us to explore the art of charcuteries and learn how to present an assortment of food for a charcuterie board,” a statement from the organization reads.
Kelly Axen, owner of Farmstyle Charcuteries and a JCI member, plans to teach attendees how to craft charcuterie assortments that are “perfect” for any kind of social gathering, such as barbecues, sporting events, or celebrations.
“Kelly has her California Food Certification and Food Handling license and will provide insights on not only how to construct a beautiful charcuteries masterpiece, she will also present vital tips on how to handle the food safely,” the JCI statement reads.
Participants have an opportunity to purchase a training ticket with a supply box for pickup full of all the food and supplies needed for the class.
Attendees for “Cheese the Day” are also welcomed to become a sponsor for the event by purchasing a sponsorship ticket. There are three types of sponsorships offered: Title Sponsor, Gold Sponsor, and Silver Sponsor.
Title Sponsors ($150) are expected to receive admission to the training, name and logo added to a future JCI press release, a logo added to the event graphic, a social media shoutout, a shout out at the beginning of the training, and a listing on the event’s Facebook page. It also comes with one box of food supplies for the event.
Gold Sponsors ($100) are set to receive admission to the training, a social media shoutout, a shout out at the beginning of the training, and a listing on the event’s Facebook page. It also comes with one box of food supplies for the event.
Silver Sponsors ($50) are set to receive a social media shoutout, a shout out at the beginning of the training, and a listing on the event’s Facebook page.

All proceeds from this training are planned to go to support the local food bank, the SCV Food Pantry.
