Canyon High School Announces New Football Head Coach

Officials with Canyon High School announced the hiring of a new football head coach Tuesday.

Ken Holsenbeck is expected to be the next head football coach, replacing Joseph Maiale who resigned after the 2021 season, according to officials.

Canyon High School is pleased to announce the selection of Mr. Ken Holsenbeck as the new head football coach for the Canyon Cowboys, read a statement that was sent to families in the Canyon Cowboys football program. Mr. Holsenbeck, a special education teacher at Canyon, also serves as one of the athletic directors.

Holsenbeck graduated from Canyon High School and played football for the Cowboys as a student.

Mr. Holsenbeck served as an assistant coach at Canyon beginning in 2014 and will now be taking on the head coach position.

“The players who have played for me know that I respect them and care for them, and that I will always be there to hold them accountable to high standards established for their success,” Holsenbeck said. “I will not only improve our performance on the field, but I will also develop our football players into future leaders in our community.”
