COC Women’s Soccer Team Shuts Out Glendale College

The College of the Canyons women’s soccer team shut out Glendale College, 1-0, in a Western State Conference South Division game.

Elisa Wassner scored in the second half for COC. Katherine Koury faced one shot on goal to record the shutout.

The COC women are in first place in the South Division with a 9-0-2 record. The Lady Cougars are 13-1-4 overall.

The Master’s College women’s soccer team shut out San Diego Christian, 2-0, in the first round of the Golden State Athletic Conference tournament.

Katie Farris scored a goal in the first half to give the Lady Mustangs, ranked No. 15 in the NAIA, a 1-0 lead. Whitney Gomillion assisted on the goal.

Natasha Coyle scored in the second half. Ilyssa Ispiritu made two saves in goal for the shutout.

Three players on The Master’s College men’s soccer team were selected to the All Golden State Athletic Conference team.

Valencia High graduate Zach Klindworth joins midfielders Brett Croft and Jorge Serrano on the all-conference team.

Klindworth has a team-high eight goals and three assists in his freshman season. Serrano was selected to the all-conference team for the second time in his career at The Master’s College.

The Master’s College men play San Diego Christian in the first round of the Golden State Athletic Conference tournament today in San Diego.

In volleyball, The Master’s College women lost to Westmont in three games. Both teams are ranked in the NAIA top 25. The Master’s College is No. 11 and Westmont is No. 14.

In the NBA, the Lakers lost to the Dallas Mavericks, 123-104, on the first game of a three-game road trip.

Nick Young scored 21 points to the lead the Lakers. Next up is the Houston Rockets and Dwight Howard on Thursday night.
