Golden Valley High School Welcomes New Girls’ Basketball Coach

Golden Valley High School announced the appointment of Ronald Allen as the new head coach of the Lady Grizzlies girls’ basketball team.

With an illustrious background in basketball, spanning both playing and coaching, Allen brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the esteemed program. His experience is set to make a significant impact on the development of the Lady Grizzlies girls’ basketball team.

Born and raised in the vibrant basketball community of Los Angeles, Ronald Allen’s journey in the sport began on the courts of Artesia High School, where he honed his skills and showcased exceptional talent.

His dedication and passion for the game led him to the University of Cincinnati, where he continued to excel both academically and athletically, leaving behind an indelible mark on the basketball program.

After a stellar collegiate career, Allen smoothly stepped into the world of professional basketball, competing in the fiercely competitive G League and overseas. His skills on the court earned him widespread recognition and respect from his peers and fans.

In 2012, after a successful playing career, Ronald Allen naturally transitioned to coaching, allowing him to share his wealth of knowledge and experience with the next generation of basketball enthusiasts. With four years of high school coaching experience and three seasons coaching in the G League, Allen has proven himself as a mentor and leader both on and off the court.

The Golden Valley administration is excited to welcome Coach Ronald Allen to the Lady Grizzlies family and is confident that his leadership will inspire and empower the team to reach new heights of achievement.

About Carl Goldman

Carl Goldman, along with his wife, Jeri repurchased KHTS AM-1220, Santa Clarita’s hometown station on October 24, 2003. They owned it from 1990-1998, and then sold it to Clear Channel Communication in 1998, buying it back from Clear Channel in 2003. Since then, they have rebuilt KHTS as a critical voice of the Valley. In 2015 the radio station moved to its new headquarters on Main Street in Old Town Newhall, in the original Newhall Hardware building. In 2018 an FM was added, 98.1, with its signal being simulcast with AM-1220. In January 2020, Carl and Jeri cruised on the Diamond Princess. Carl was one of the first Americans to come down with Covid-19. Months earlier he was impacted by Guillain Barre Syndrome as a result of a Shingles vaccine in September 2019. He is still in recovery from the vaccine.
