Week Eight

Golden Valley (6-2. 1-2): 0

Valencia (5-3, 5-0): 34

Valencia overwhelmed Golden Valley from start to finish en route to their 40th Foothill League win in a row.

Mitchell Torres scored a pair of touchdowns and the Vikings defense scored on a fumble recovery.

The Grizzlies have been outscored 86-13 in two league losses.

West Ranch (8-0, 3-0): 53

Saugus (3-5, 0-3): 20

The night belonged to West Ranch quarterback Walker Eget, who threw seven touchdown passes to three different receivers and broke the Wildcats single season pass touchdown record, now his at 27. The junior threw three touchdown passes to Nicholas Kohl, three to Zach Van bennekum and one to Brandon Wyre.

In all, the Wildcats offense was unstoppable and Saugus was overmatched. It was the fifth 50 point game of the season for West Ranch, the No. 2 team in the CIF Southern Section Division 7.

West Ranch has passed every test so far this season with ease, and the two toughest teams on their schedule are the final two games of the regular season, starting with Hart next week.

Hart (5-3, 21-1): 41

Canyon (2-6, 0-3): 20

Canyon hung tough throughout the first half and only trailed Hart by seven at halftime, 27-20. What’s plagued the Cowboys the entire season reared its ugly head again: remaining competitive for a full 48 minutes. They were outscored 14-0 in the second half tonight, and have scored just 18 points in the second halves of their three league games.

Hart executed well all night and shook off the hurt of their last minute loss to Valencia last week. The battle for first place and a top spot in playoff seeding continues next week against 8-0 West Ranch.

Saturday, October 19th

Firebaugh (1-7, 0-1): 28

Trinity Classical Academy (6-1, 1-0): 50

Rick Roberts adn the high flying Trinity Knights passing attack was firing on all cylinders on Saturday. Much like West Ranch’s Walker Eget on Friday, Roberts broke his program’s passing touchdown record in the victory.

The Knights host Southlands Christian in a Thursday game at College of the Canyons.
