Boys
Valencia (3-0): 89
West Ranch (2-1): 56
Valencia had West Ranch doubled up by halftime, 53-25, and never let up.
The Vikings offense is just too difficult to stop. Averaging over 77 points per game in league play, they have proven shooters, with Foothill League leading scorer Noah Veluzat (26 points) and Jake Hlywiak (21 points), and big guys that can finish around the rim like Kevin Konrad (17 points) and Junior Camacho (9 points).
A dangerous team that on any given night could go for 100.
–
Hart (2-1): 67
Canyon (1-2): 62
Dillon Barrientos continues to show his scoring prowess, with 24 points to lead the Indians to victory over Canyon.
The Cowboys rallied in the second half, but couldn’t make it all the way back.
–
Golden Valley (0-3): 44
Saugus (1-2): 102
The Centurions were able to take out some frustration on the Grizzlies to get their first league win.
Adrian McIntyre had 25 points, seven assists and six rebounds, and Amit Walia added 16 points in the win.
Girls
Saugus (3-0): 60
Golden Valley (0-3): 28
The combination of Libbie McMahan and Monique Febles overwhelmed the Grizzlies and the No. 5 team in Division 2AA moved to 16-4.
–
Hart (2-1): 44
Canyon (2-1): 39
Much like in the boys game, the Hart girls were able to stave off a strong rally from the Cowboys. Hart owned the third quarter (19-10) but Canyon came back in the 4th quarter (6-15). Ultimately, the Indians prevailed to hand Canyon its first league loss.
–
Valencia (2-1): 67
West Ranch (0-3): 17
Valencia took care of business on the road to pull into a three way tie for second place in the Foothill League with Hart and Canyon.
