Week Ten
Valencia (7-3, 5-0): 45
West Ranch (8-2, 3-2): 0
Valencia dominated start to finish as they cruised to their 42nd straight Foothill League win and 11th consecutive league title. The Vikings did everything well as they forced a shutout on defense including three forced turnovers and hit Saugus with a balanced attack that produced six touchdowns, three on the ground, three through the air.
–
Golden Valley (8-2, 3-2): 29
Hart (6-4, 3-2): 28
Golden Valley defeated Hart for the first time in its program’s history in dramatic fashion. The Grizzlies maintained a two-score lead until midway through the fourth quarter when the stagnant Hart offense was able to put together two quick scoring drives late to force overtime. Hart took the ball first and found the endzone, but Golden Valley responded and scored right back. The Grizzlies elected to go for it all with a two-point conversion and converted to win the game.
–
Saugus (3-7, 1-4): 40
Canyon (2-8, 0-5): 28
Saugus had a three-score lead early in the second half, but Canyon ripped off three scores in a row to give them a scare. The Cowboys’ rally needed the help of some big plays, including an 87-yard reception and a fumble return. With Canyon in the lead going into the fourth quarter, the Centurions composed themselves and put together a drive to retake the lead, which they never gave back.
