Santa Clarita Sports Report, April 21, 2017. This is your place for Santa Clarita’s 2016/17 Foothill League spring sports. Find all the latest news and updates on your hometown schools here as they compete in the Foothill League, Heritage League, Western State Conference and GSAC.

The LA Rams and LA Chargers will play three home games next season at the same time, twelve miles apart (LA Memorial Coliseum and StubHub Center).

Friday’s Foothill League schedule:

Hart (5-3) vs West Ranch (7-1)

Valencia (6-2) vs Saugus (4-4)

Canyon (1-7) vs Golden Valley (1-7)

Thursday’s Santa Clarita Valley scoreboard:

Valencia 4

Golden Valley 0

Valencia flexed in the battle of undefeateds and moved to 4-0 in league play with six wins in a row. Shea O’Leary was dominant on the mound, tossing a perfect game.

Saugus 11

Hart 3

Senior Ryleigh Bermea hit a grand slam as the Centurions routed the Indians at home. Saugus moves into sole possession of second place with the win.

West Ranch 4

Canyon 5

Canyon picked up its first league win of the season thanks to a four-run third inning that busted the game wide open. Meisha Murray hit a 2-run double in that third inning.

Santa Clarita High School Boys Volleyball

Thursday’s Foothill League scores:

West Ranch 3

Valencia 0

The Wildcats are riding an eight game winning streak and haven’t been pushed to a fifth set once during the streak. They lead the Foothill League by two games.

Saugus 3

Golden Valley 1

The Grizzlies disappointing league season continues as they fall to 0-7. Saugus keeping their league title hopes alive with the win, combined with Valencia’s loss moves the Centurions into a second place tie.

Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers (8-8) are in Arizona for a weekend series with the Diamondbacks. Alex Wood takes the mound in tonight’s game against Taijuan Walker.

As a team, it appears it will take some time for the Dodgers bats to come around; they’re hitting .245 as a team. However, they are at the top of the league in several pitching categories, including first in ERA (2.88).

First pitch is at 7:10.
