Valencia 3
7 West Ranch 1
The West Ranch and Valencia aces, and two best pitchers in the Santa Clarita Valley this season, faced off yesterday in an ever-increasing rivalry building on the west side of the valley.
Chase Farrell of Valencia and Timmy Josten of West Ranch renewed their own pitchers duel Wednesday night in Irvine, and Farrell emerged from this chapter victorious. And the UCLA-bound right-hander was brilliant.
Farrell allowed only six hits and has now struckout 29 batters in his last three appearances. Jovan Comacho scored the Wildcats’ only run, and it’s now 1-1 on the season series, one that figures to crown the Foothill League champion and likely seeded place in the CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs.
However, to get there, we’ve got a long way to go. These two teams won’t play again til the final series of the season, May 9 and 11. Stay tuned.
