Santa Clarita Sports Report: August 24, 2015

Santa Clarita Sports Report: August 24, 2015 – Hart High graduate Jason Gore was second in the PGA Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club in North Carolina.

Gore finished 16-under and was one shot behind tournament winner Davis Love III.

Gore was the leader after the third round of the tournament. He shot a 10-under 62 on Saturday.

He shot a 3-under 69 in the final round and won $583,200.

On the LPGA, Valencia High graduate Alison Lee finished in a tie for fifth place at the Canadian Pacific Women’s Open in Vancouver.

It was her fifth top-10 finish on the LPGA in her rookie season.

Lydia Ko won the tournament in a playoff with Stacy Lewis. Both were 12-under for the tournament. Ko won the first playoff hole with a par.

Lee was 10-under for the tournament.

In the major leagues, the Dodgers lost to the Houston Astros, 3-2 in extra innings. The Dodgers were swept by the Astros over the weekend and have lost five games in a row.

Jason Castro hit a solo home run in the 10th inning to win the game.

The Dodgers were up 2-1 in the ninth inning, but the Astros scored a run in the bottom of the inning to tie the score.

The Dodgers have the day off today. They start a series against the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday.
