Hart High captured their first win of the season as they now prepare to go on the road.

Likewise, Canyon High notched their first win, and the first win for Joe Maiale as head coach of the program.

College of the Canyons

Football: The Cougars bounced back from their week-one loss with a strong win over Grossmont on Saturday, 41-13. College of the Canyons was dominant on both sides of the ball, with Grossmont’s lone touchdown coming on a 63-yard pass. The Cougars got up 17-0 in the first quarter and never looked back. Next week they go on the road to face Santa Barbara.

Women’s Soccer: College of the Canyons secured a 2-0 win over San Bernardino Valley College on Friday. A goal from Emily Perez in the 26th minute put the Cougars up early, and the second goal from Araceli Castenada in the 83rd minute drove home the dominant win to advance to a record of 2-1 on the season.

The Master’s University

Men’s Soccer: A 3-0 win on Friday vs. La Sierra University moves the Mustangs to 2-1-3 on the season. Brayden Campos opened things up early with a goal in the 15th minute and Dylan Bielanski chipped in two more goals in the 16th and 47th. Those two scores make it five goals on the season for Bielanski. Their next match is at home, Thursday against Marymount California University.

Women’s Soccer: The Mustangs took home a 2-0 win Friday on the road against the University of Antelope Valley. Kayla Monick secured the lead early for The Masters University with a goal in the third minute, and Elizabeth Radmilovich knocked one in late for good measure in the 81st minute. Next Saturday they face UC Merced at home.

Women’s Volleyball: The Master’s University lost in three sets on the road at Westmont College on Saturday. The scores in each set were 25-18, 25-19 and 25-18. With the loss, the Mustangs move to 7-6 on the season. The Mustangs face Hope International University next Friday at home.

Los Angeles Dodgers

Since clinching the NL West division title last Tuesday, the Dodgers closed out their east coast road trip by going 3-2. They faced the Mets in the final three-game series of their stretch of away games, winning two of three. The boys in blue closed out the series yesterday with a 3-2 victory over the Mets.

The Dodgers had to rally back after the Mets put up two runs in the second inning. A line drive from Corey Seager in the fourth brought in Max Muncy. Chris Taylor drove in their second run with a deep shot in the eighth, and a base hit up the middle from Jedd Gyorko gave the Dodgers the lead in the ninth with a Kike Hernandez score.

The Dodgers (97-54) now return home for a two-game series with the Tampa Bay Rays, beginning Tuesday at 7:10 p.m. live on KHTS AM-1220 and FM-98.1.
