CIF SS Football Championships

The Valencia Vikings and Golden Valley Grizzlies will play for CIF Southern Section titles in Divisions 2 and 6, respectively, after dramatic Semifinal victories last Friday night.

Thanks to favorable outcomes of coin flips, both teams will host the championship games at their home fields of Harry Welch Stadium (Canyon HS) and Dr. Paul A. Priesz Stadium (Valencia HS). COC Volleyball

The Cougars (24-5) are headed to the CCCAA State Volleyball Tournament to play for a California championship after sweeping El Camino on Saturday.

It’s the third time in program history that COC advances to the State Tournament (December 2-3 at Solano College in Fairfield).

The 8-team tournament matches the four best teams from the NorCal and SoCal, starting with the Quarterfinal round Saturday morning, Semifinals Saturday evening and the championship game on Sunday afternoon.

College of the Canyons, the SoCal 3-seed, takes on NorCal 2-seed Feather River. First serve is at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
