Child Airlifted After Experiencing Medical Emergency In Santa Clarita

A child was airlifted Friday night after experiencing a medical emergency in Santa Clarita.

At around 8:20 p.m. Friday, first responders received reports of a male juvenile lying unconscious in Homestead Place in Santa Clarita, according to Supervisor Michael Pittman with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“We got a call from the 22000 block of Homestead Place indicating that a male juvenile had a medical problem,” Pittman said. “A copter was dispatched.”

The patient arrived at the hospital at 9:15 p.m., according to Pittman.

  1. I’ve noticed the past couple of articles regarding air-lifting for medical emergencies are in the evening when traffic jams are not typical. How is air lifting quicker than an ambulance that is posted in that part of town? It’s seems expensive to me, to use a helicopter.
