A pediatric patient was airlifted to a nearby hospital from Castaic Lake following heat exposure Sunday.
At 12:45 p.m. Sunday, reports were received of a child who had suffered heat exposure near Castaic Lake. A helicopter unit from the Los Angeles County Fire Department was dispatched to the area, officials said.
“We airlifted a pediatric patient from the lake,” said Supervisor Cheryl Sims with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. “The original call was due to heat exposure.”

Triple-digit temperatures and poor air quality are expected for the Santa Clarita weather this Labor Day weekend, with Sunday’s forecast at an expected 116 degrees.
The condition of the patient was unknown as of Sunday afternoon.

I’m the parent of the 3 year old. She was airlifted to Northridge hospital. She is back home and doing much better.

I agree. I would not do that, but please have some compassion. Maybe she didn’t realize it would end like this and perhaps she won’t in the future. Some have to learn lessons the hard way.
