Castaic Power Outage Impacts Over 500 Customers

UPDATE (6:30 p.m.): Officials are now reporting that the Castaic power outage was caused due to “equipment problems.”

Power is estimated to be restored by Saturday morning. Residents that this is only an estimate, and it is based on SoCal Edison’s assessment of the extent of damage and is subject to change depending on the conditions of the outage

UPDATE (6:15 p.m.): Southern California Edison officials are now reporting just under 400 customers are still affected by the Castaic power outage.

Original Story: Over 500 customers in Castaic are experiencing a power outage, according to Southern California Edison officials.

At approximately 5:35 p.m., Southern California Edison officials received reports of a power outage in the Castaic area.

In total, officials estimate that 535 customers have been impacted as a result of the outage.

The cause of the outage, as well as the estimated recovery time, is currently unknown.
