Nearly 2,500 customers with Southern California Edison (SCE) were without power Thursday afternoon as the result of a Castaic power outage.
Just after 1:50 p.m. Thursday, residents in Castaic began reporting power outages near Hasley Canyon.
After receiving those reports, SCE officials confirmed that an estimated 2,465 of their customers in the area were impacted by the Castaic power outage, according to their outage center.
While no cause for the outage had been determined as of 2:20 p.m. Thursday, most customers are expected to have power restored by 3 p.m. Thursday.
As of 2:20 p.m. Thursday, no areas of the Santa Clarita Valley were under consideration for Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) by SCE.
