A first-alarm response was requested Tuesday afternoon for a 14 Freeway brush fire in Santa Clarita, officials said.

Around 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, emergency responders received reports of a vegetation fire, on the southbound 14 Freeway near Via Princessa in Santa Clarita, according to Miguel Ornelas, a dispatch supervisor with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

When firefighters arrived on scene, the fire, dubbed the Princess Fire, had been reported as a half-acre brush fire with light to medium fuels traveling uphill, according to Ornelas.
