A brush fire near the Bouquet Reservoir prompted a response from firefighters Wednesday.
The brush fire, dubbed the Sierra Fire, was first reported around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday on Bouquet Canyon Road north of Texas Canyon, according to officials with the Angeles National Forestry.
Crews Make Progress On Sierra Fire (11:30 a.m. Thursday)
The Sierra Fire is at 11 acres with 90 percent containment. Bouquet Canyon Road remains closed except for residents with Sheriff’s escort.
Knockdown on Sierra Fire (5:30 p.m.)
Knockdown has been called on the Sierra Fire as of 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Currently, the brush fire stands at 11 acres burned, according to officials with the Angeles National Forest (ANF).
The Los Angeles County Fire Department is currently assisting ANF in efforts to fight the blaze. Between both agencies, 250 firefighters, six helicopters and three air tankers have been deployed, according to ANF officials.

Partial Containment (4:30 p.m.)
The Sierra Fire had reached 11 acres and is 25 percent contained as of 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Evacuations and road closures remain in place.
Commuters are encouraged to use State Route 14, Sierra Highway, or San Francisquito Canyon Road as an alternate route.

Evacuations Begin (3:44 p.m.)
Evacuations have begun for areas of Bouquet Canyon north of Texas Canyon Road and south of Spunky Canyon Road, according to Deputy Liza Melgar, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
High Temperatures and West Winds (3:30 p.m.)
The fire had spread to at least 10 acres in size as of 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Temperatures were hovering at about 93 degrees, with 14 percent humidity and winds blowing east with gusts up to 12 mph, according to National Weather Service officials.
As of 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, the fire is at a quarter acre in medium brush.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department is responding to help with structure defense, according to officials.
Bouquet Canyon Road has been requested to be shut down, between Spunky Canyon and Vasquez Canyon Roads, according to California Highway Patrol logs.
