The Briggs Fire ignited in Agua Dulce Wednesday morning with structures burning prompting a response from firefighters, officials said.
UPDATE: 9:45 a.m. — The Agua Dulce fire has reached 70 percent containment, with the three outbuildings needing “extensive overhaul,” according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
UPDATE: 9:40 a.m. — Three outbuildings are now engulfed, with the brush fire at 30 percent containment, according to Fire officials.
UPDATE: 9:25 a.m. — The fire has now engulfed two structures, according to the L.A. County Fire Department.
The brush fire, dubbed the Briggs Fire, was first reported Wednesday morning around 8:30 a.m. on the southbound 14 Freeway near Vazquez Canyon Rocks in Agua Dulce, said Austin Bennett, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“There is one to one-half acres in medium fuel with one structure on fire with more threatened,” Bennett said.
When first responders arrived on the scene, they corrected the location to Briggs Road near Agua Dulce Canyon Road, according to Fire officials
The fire is visible from the 14 Freeway but is not blocking any lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol.
