A brush fire called the Mint Fire broke out north east of Santa Clarita in Acton Saturday afternoon.
At around 3 p.m., first responders received reports of a brush fire on the northbound 14 Freeway and Escondido Canyon Road in Acton, according to Supervisor Bernard Peters with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fire was located down an embankment in a ravine.
Several people in their vehicle stopped along the road to try and put out the fire before first responders arrived, according to CHP.
Upon arrival, the fire was reported to be a quarter acre.
“Four engines are out there right now mopping it up,” said Peters. “All other units have been cancelled.”
No roads were blocked as a result of the fire and no injuries were reported.
