UPDATE: Canyon Country Brush Fire Prompts Evacuations, Road Closures

A Canyon Country brush fire has prompted commercial evacuations, road closures and a delay in Metrolink services on Thursday.  

UPDATE (3:35): Evacuation boundaries have been reduced between Commuter Way and Bouquet Canyon Road as the fire reaches 20-acres.

UPDATE (3:20 p.m.): The Canyon Country brush fire has grown past 15-acres. Commercial buildings including Schooner’s Bar and Grill, on the south side of Soledad Canyon Road between Commuter Way and Magic Mountain Parkway are being evacuated.

The Canyon Country brush fire, dubbed the Railroad Fire, was first reported around 2:45 p.m. on Soledad Canyon Road near Commuter Way, said a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department. 

As a result of the Railroad fire, all trains on the Antelope Valley Line have been temporarily halted, according to officials. 

Soledad Canyon Road has been temporarily shut-down between Bouquet Canyon Road and Commuter Way as firefighters work to extinguish the blaze.
