A fire in Castaic reached 3 and a half acres near 5 Southbound after forward progress was stopped, according to fire officials.

UPDATE 2:55 p.m.: Forward progress has been stopped and crews are “mopping up,” said Supervisor Melanie Flores.
UPDATE 2:05 p.m. — A SigAlert has been issued as a result of the fire in Castaic.
“SigAlert in Santa in Santa Clarita area: SB 1-5 South of Templin Hwy, #4 Lane is blocked for approximately one hour due to a brush fire,” said the update from CHP.
A brush fire has been reported near the 5 freeway and Lake Hughes Road.
The fire in Castaic has grown to at least an acre and a half in light brush, but is growing at a slow rate of speed, according to Supervisor Melanie Flores, LACoFD.
As of now, officials are dubbing the fire as the “Marble Incident,” according to LACoFD.
The number 4 lane has been shut down, according to CHP.
