A “fully involved” big rig fire has been reported on the 5 Freeway north of Castaic Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
The fire was reported at about 3:40 p.m. Wednesday near the northbound 5 Freeway south of Templin Highway, according to Franklin Lopez with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“It is a fully involved tractor, with no spread to brush,” Lopez said.
Roof shingles are possibly in the truck trailer, according to California Highway Patrol logs.
The No. 3 and 4 lanes of the 5 Freeway are closed for an unknown duration near the CHP turnaround south of Templin Highway, according to the CHP.
