Garage Fire In Saugus Spreads Into Home

A garage fire in Saugus broke out near Rosedell Elementary late Monday afternoon, with first responders finding “heavy smoke and fire” as the flames spread to the rest of the home.

BREAKING: A garage fire has broken out in the 28100 block of Meadbury Drive in Saugus.

UPDATE (5:45 p.m.): Knockdown on the Meadbury Fire was declared at 5:44 p.m., according to an official with the Los Angeles County Fire Deparment.

No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.

Investigators were en route to determine the exact cause of the blaze.

Original Post: Just after 5 p.m. Monday, first responders with the Los Angeles County Fire Department received reports of a structure fire on the 28100 block of Meadbury Drive in Saugus, near Rosedell Elementary School.

“They have they have heavy smoke and fire showing through the roof of a single-story house,” said Supervisor Pittman with the department.

A large plume of smoke from the incident could be seen from Bouquet Canyon Road.

No injures connected to the blaze had been reported as of 5:20 p.m.
